Privacy Commitment

Trust is the foundation of this work. Below, you'll find our commitments around privacy, mandated reporting, and transparency, so you know exactly what to expect before we begin working together.

HIPAA Rights & Privacy

HIPAA & Your Privacy

Iris ABA Consulting is a HIPAA-covered entity. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your protected health information (PHI) in accordance with federal law. A full Notice of Privacy Practices, detailing how your information may be used and disclosed and your rights regarding your health information, is provided at the start of services and available upon request.

In brief:

  • Your information is used only for treatment, coordination of care, billing, and operations directly related to your services.

  • We do not share your information with third parties without your written authorization, except where required by law (such as mandated reporting, court order, or a serious safety concern).

  • You have the right to request access to your records, request corrections, and request a list of certain disclosures.

  • You have the right to file a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been violated, either with us directly or with the HHS Office for Civil Rights, without fear of retaliation.

Questions or concerns about your privacy can be directed to Jerry Everette, Privacy Officer, at jerry@IrisABAConsulting.com or (717) 418-5459.

Mandated Reporting

Mandated Reporter Statement

Iris ABA Consulting staff are mandated reporters under Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law. This means we are legally required to report any reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities, such as ChildLine or local child protective services. This obligation applies to every family we work with, and it cannot be waived or set aside by agreement between us.

We take this responsibility seriously, and we also want to be clear about what it does and does not mean for you.

A report is not an accusation, and it is not a judgment about you, your family, your school or daycare, or your agency. State law sets a low, specific bar: reasonable suspicion, not proof, not certainty. That means a report can be made based on something observed or disclosed that meets this legal threshold, without any conclusion being drawn about what happened or who is responsible. The investigation, if one occurs, is handled by trained professionals outside of our work together, not by us.

What this is not: it is not a tool we use to monitor or evaluate your parenting, and it is not something triggered by disagreement, frustration, or difficulty in our work together. It exists for one reason: to make sure a child's safety concern is reviewed by the people equipped to look into it.

If you ever have questions about this policy, or what it would mean in a specific situation, we're glad to talk it through with you before we begin working together.
